This series of oil paintings was inspired from my time working and volunteering at the Hollygrove Market and Farm, located in New Orleans’ Hollygrove neighborhood. Customers there often inquire about what times of year particular fruits and vegetables will be available. I thought that making a calendar featuring some of my favorite foods within the months that they can be spotted in farmers markets would be a fun way for me to help locavores keep track of Louisiana’s bountiful and ever-changing food supply.
